Aptella announces a distribution agreement with German-based NavVis, a leading developer of mobile mapping reality capture solutions. Under the agreement, Aptella will sell and support the NavVis VLX<\/a><\/strong> solution, a wearable scanning system that enables fast data capture of complex structures using advanced Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping (SLAM) technology.<\/p>

\u201cNavVis is highly regarded as a global leader in mobile mapping and SLAM technology,\u201d said Martin Nix, Aptella CEO. \u201cWe look forward to introducing the NavVis VLX wearable mobile mapping system to our customers \u2013 it is a dynamic solution that makes light work of modelling large, complex structures in a fraction of the time compared with terrestrial models.\u201d<\/p>

Ideal for facility managers, engineers, architects and other construction or geospatial professionals, the NavVis VLX is designed to capture complex areas accurately as the user walks around a site.<\/p>

Using a combination of LiDAR sensors, four cameras for 360-degree imagery, Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and advanced SLAM software, the NavVis VLX delivers survey-grade point cloud data 10 times faster than terrestrial 3D laser scanning methods.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>
