It incorporates an over voltage surge arrestor that o\ufb00ers protection from a lightning strike<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The piezometer may be \ufb01tted with either a low air entry sintered steel or high air entry ceramic \ufb01lters. A coned nose piece is available for push in installations. A cable connects the transducer to a read-out, terminal unit or data logger.<\/p>\n<p>The readout can display either frequency based units, or on inputting the instrument calibration factor, it can also display engineering units.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>APPLICATIONS<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Piezometers are used in geotechnical, environmental, and hydrological applications. They can be installed in boreholes, placed in \ufb01ll materials or open wells to measure water levels or pore water pressures to enable engineers to verify design assumptions and control placement of \ufb01ll. With a nose cone \ufb01tted the piezometer can also be pushed \u00a0into soft ground with a CPT rig.<\/p>\n<h5>Typical applications include:<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"bullet\">Environmental management
