This introductory course is designed for new and existing MAGNET Office users looking to build confidence using the software’s core workflows. Participants will learn how to efficiently import, manage, process, and visualise survey and design data while developing best-practice workflows for surveying, civil construction, and machine control projects.

Through a combination of instructor-led demonstrations and practical exercises, attendees will gain the skills to confidently navigate MAGNET Office, configure project settings, create and edit Digital Terrain Models (DTMs), and produce accurate project outputs. Building on the knowledge gained through the Introduction Module, this course explores advanced MAGNET Office tools and techniques to help users maximise the capabilities of the software.

Participants will learn how to manage complex survey datasets, apply advanced coding and adjustment workflows, perform volume calculations, and create detailed designs for construction and development projects. The Road Design course is designed for existing MAGNET Office users who have completed the Introduction module and are looking to develop their skills in creating and managing road design workflows.

Building on foundational MAGNET Office knowledge, this course guides participants through a complete road design process, from initial data preparation and alignment creation through to surface modelling, design refinement, plotting, and exporting data for construction use.

Participants will gain practical experience creating road designs using real-world workflows, including horizontal and vertical alignments, profile design, templates, batters, super elevation, subgrade creation, and design surface generation. The course also covers preparing and transferring completed design information for use in field and machine control applications.

The Course Objectives include:
