Aptella is seeking a degree-qualified Surveyor with road surveying experience to join our team in Adelaide on a 12-month contract. In this role, you will support the delivery of surveying services across civil infrastructure and road projects, ensuring accurate data capture, reliable outputs, and safe work practices on site.
Working closely with project teams, engineers, and construction crews, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality survey data to support road construction, upgrades, and infrastructure projects.
This role will suit a survey professional who enjoys working across both field and office environments, applying strong technical capability in road and civil project environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform surveying activities across civil and road infrastructure projects
- Conduct set-out, control, and as-built surveys in accordance with project requirements
- Support survey works for road construction, alignment, levels, drainage, and pavement works
- Capture, process, and manage survey data to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to support project delivery
- Operate and maintain modern surveying equipment and software
- Ensure surveying activities comply with WHS legislation, company safety systems, and site procedures
- Contribute to quality assurance by checking survey data and deliverables
- Support continuous improvement in survey processes and technology adoption
About You
You are a technically capable surveyor with experience working on road or civil infrastructure projects. You take pride in producing accurate work and are confident working in fast-paced construction environments.
You will bring:
- An Australian recognised tertiary qualification in Surveying or a related discipline
- Experience in road construction, civil, or infrastructure surveying
- Strong understanding of road alignment, levels, and construction set-out
- Proficiency using modern survey equipment such as Leica, Trimble, or similar
- Experience with survey processing and drafting software
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
- A proactive mindset and commitment to safety, quality, and professional standards
Experience working on major road or transport infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.
