We’re looking for a qualified Auto Electrician who brings solid hands-on field fitting skills with a minimum of one year experience. If you’re keen to apply your auto-electrical expertise to advanced operational technology on heavy mining machinery, this role is for you.
This is a hands-on and varied position — some days you’ll be in the field installing systems, other days you’ll be fault-finding, updating software, or fabricating brackets to ensure equipment is fitted correctly. You’ll be based out of our Archerfield office on an 8/6 FIFO roster across the East Coast and will be provided with everything you need to succeed: service vehicle, laptop, and phone.
What You’ll Do
- Install and service advanced mining technology (HPGPS, FMS, and safety systems).
- Troubleshoot auto-electrical faults, run diagnostics, and perform system updates.
- Carry out hands-on tasks including bracket fabrication and equipment fit-outs.
- Support safety on every job by following procedures and identifying risks.
- Complete job sheets, safety checks, and reports.
- Read and work with electrical schematics, OEM diagrams, and auto-electrical wiring.
What We’re Looking For
- A trade qualification as an Auto Electrician
- Strong hands-on technical and field fitting experience.
- A proactive, safety-focused approach with a willingness to learn.
- Comfortable with FIFO rosters and working in remote environments.
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
- A valid C-Class driver’s licence (HR, EWP, or Working at Heights tickets a bonus).
- Mining experience is great, but not essential if you’re eager to grow.
